Building on the success of the McCooleys at Concert Square the client wished to create another venue more ambitious than the first. The second is located at the bottom of Matthew Street, a popular nightlife spot in Liverpool city centre. The client was keen to maintain the atmosphere and materiality of the concert square venue.
Key to the success of the venue is the linking of the two buildings by new central staircases. This creates a multi level venue with entrances on both Stanley Street and Matthew Street.
