Built on the site of the Bryant and May Matchworks site on the edge of Liverpool, the grade II Matchworks factory's raw concrete structure and rigid orthagonal grid of the original factory is the marker and inspiration for this pavilion building.
Although on first impressions a simple glass box, the steel frame hides a louvred skin; such that the building takes on a visual life that echoes the wish of its users [translucent, semi translucent or solid]. In form the building utilises a minimal palette with no ancillary surface finishes used in the entire building.
