Snook Architects delivered this 90-bed student accommodation building, designed in association with ShedKM. The monolithic structure uses the uninterrupted, inset glazing along with a brick colonnade to create a vertical emphasis. The brick also responds contextually by integrating the modernist design into the historic Hope St area through materiality. Rigorous and repetitive in its design, it is reminiscent of the classical proportion of the neighbouring philamonic hall but reinterpreted in a modernist style.
